Tomorrow afternoon all eyes will be on The Valley (MVC) as the Missouri State Bears face off against Wichita State on the basketball court. The Shockers of Wichita State are hoping to finish the regular season undefeated with a record of 31-0. The Bears on the other hand would like to avenge their 72-69 overtime loss from January 11th. The Bears led most of the way and were up by 18 points at the start of the second.

Safety Steve Gregory will be released by the Patriots today. According to the Patriots' website, the team will save $2.25 million on the cap with this transaction. Looking at the Spotrac website it appears they will be on the hook for $833,334 in dead money. Last offseason the Patriots added depth to the safety position by signing former Arizona Cardinal Adrian Wilson to a three year contract. Wilson never played a snap for the Patriots as he was put on the IR with a hamstring injury when the final cuts were made. Although he is 34, a healthy Wilson should bring some needed size (6'3" 230) to our group of safeties. The Patriots do have a lot of youth at the safety position with Duron Harmon, Tavon Wilson, Nate Ebner and Kanorris Davis. These young guys have shown themselves to be pretty good when given the opportunity. As a group they have combined for 11 turnovers (7 interceptions and 4 fumble recoveries) in a total of 77 games played. Since games played includes times when they may have only played on the special teams unit, the rate of turnovers is pretty impressive.
Nate Ebner has the most experience with 30 games under his belt. In that time he has accumulated 23 tackles and 2 fumble recoveries. Tavon Wilson has started 4 of the 29 games he has appeared in and seems to get his hands on the ball quite often. In his brief career, he has had 5 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries to go along with his 44 tackles. Harmon and Davis were both rookies this past season and will look to have a greater impact next season. Harmon got a lot game experience this season as he suited up for 15 games and started 3. In his rookie season he had 2 interceptions and 31 tackles. Davis spent a majority of the season on the Patriots' practice squad but did get to play in 3 games. Obviously, my failure to include Devin McCourty in this blog entry is because he already is a well-known starter on the Patriots' defense and his role will not be affected by Gregory's release. Chances are you read the title of this blog and knew exactly where I was heading. I'll be short and to the point.
With the NFL Combine coming to an end and the free agency period right around the corner, there is lots of discussion on what moves the Patriots need to make this offseason. According to multiple sources, the only impending free agent the Patriots have spoken with so far is CB Aqib Talib. With multiple cornerbacks hitting the market this offseason, it is
Tonight the Celtics play the final game of their west coast road trip. Having gone 0-3 during the trip, the Celtics currently have a record of 19-38. If the season were to end today, the Celtics would have the fourth worst record in the NBA. With the fourth
