Looking at both teams statistics through the 2021 NFL season, the Patriots and Chargers look to be pretty evenly matched in most categories. There are however a few places where one team does appear to have an advantage heading into this week 8 matchup.

Instead of calling this a must win game, I'm going to refer to it as a must not lose game. We've already had one bad loss this season, we certainly can not afford two. Had we actually won one of those moral victory games that we couldn't finish, then this game wouldn't be quite as important. Yet, week 7 here we are looking for our first home win.
There was a time when the Patriots were unbeatable at home. This season, the team is 0-3 at home with both victories occuring on the road. Is a 4:25 home game against the Cowboys what the Patriots need to get back to 500 and their first win at Gillette, I think so.
Not wanting to go to 1-4, the Patriots have a must win game down in Houston. Although they are without 80% of their offensive line, they are still favored to win as Houston has their own set of troubles.
Yes, it's just one game, but it could very likely be the only time the coaching GOAT and quarterback GOAT will ever face each other. Coming off losses last week, both teams could really use a bounce back game.
