Yesterday I made my prediction on who would not make the Patriots roster of 53. After looking at the cuts the Patriots actually made, I think I did pretty good. If only my Powerball group could do half this well in picking numbers. Oh well, here is the comparison.

This was my attempt at coming up with the Patriots 53 man roster. I actually wrote this up this morning around 6 o'clock. Already there are several people that I thought would make the team that have been cut. The numbers beside the players are relatively meaningless other than probably numbers like 47 through 53 some of those four players that I thought would barely make the team wow a few others I just realized I didn't have enough players at certain positions in case of injury and things like that. With their final preseason tuneup under their belts and roster cuts due by 4 pm tomorrow, the Patriots are just about ready for the NFL season to commence. With that, I'm going to give my thoughts on a couple of things. Ideally, I will try to come up with my roster of 53 prior to Belichick sharing his.
In case you missed it, the Patriots traded Logan Mankins to Tampa Bay for Tim Wright and a fourth round pick today. While you probably already know a lot about Mankins, you might not know a heck of a lot about Tim Wright. Here is a brief rundown on the newest member of the Patriots.
Special teams and defense stood out in a good way for the Patriots tonight. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski made both of his field goal attempts of the half. His 60 yarder with room to spare at the end of the half was rather impressive. Was there really any doubt?
