In case you missed it, the Patriots traded Logan Mankins to Tampa Bay for Tim Wright and a fourth round pick today. While you probably already know a lot about Mankins, you might not know a heck of a lot about Tim Wright. Here is a brief rundown on the newest member of the Patriots.
- Wright played college ball at Rutgers.....you know the Patriots' minor league team.
- He is a 6' 4" 220 pound tight end
- Played in all 16 games his rookie season
- Caught 54 of 76 passes thrown in his direction
- Gained 571 yards
- Longest reception went for 36 yards
- Had 5 touchdowns
- Averaged 2.6 yards after the catch
- Had 30 first downs
- Zero fumbles
- Recruited by Schiano at Rutgers and signed by him as a rookie free agent at Tampa Bay.
- Played tailback, wide receiver, cornerback and safety at Wall High School in New Jersey (Wall is a town which borders Brick, NJ)
- Played wide receiver at Rutgers
- Didn't attend NFL combine but jumped 36" at Rutgers Pro Day
Big East All-Academic team 2011 & 2012 - Missed 2010 college season with a knee injury
- Was considered the Scarlet Knights' team barber
