WILL WE SEE THE PUNTER KICKER COMBO FOR AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN NEW ENGLAND?

By now you've probably heard that Patriots' long-time kicker Stephen Gostkowski is out for the season with a hip injury.  Not wasting any time, the team brought in five kickers to take a look at.
The players whose tires were kicked are Kai Forbath, Elliott Fry, Mike Nugent, Blair Walsh, and Matthew Wright.

Kai most recently played for the Jaguars with his last attempts occuring on January 21, 2018 against the Eagles.  He has made 85.7% of his field goal attempts and 94 of his extra points.

Elliott Fry was the last man out of this year's kicking competition in Chicago.  He kicked for South Carolina from 2013-2016.
Nugent has been kicking around the league since 2005.  The 37 year old was last linked with the Raiders.  Last season he was placed on injured reserve with a hip injury after week 3.

Blair Walsh played most of 5 seasons for the Vikings before being let go.  In 2017 he played for the Seahawks.  With the Patriots having the Redskins on the docket this week, I find it amusing that Walsh was 0-3 in field goal attempts against the team in 2017.

Matthew Wright played his college ball at the University of Central Florida where he made 77.5% of his field goal attempts and 98.6% of his PATs.  Wright did not survive the final cuts in Pittsburgh this year.

With the current situation as it is, I think this would be the perfect week for Belichick to do something many of us on Twitter have speculated about for some time.  For at least one week I'd like to see Belichick let current punter Jake Bailey perform all kicker duties.  In case you didn't already know, Bailey was an all-around kicker in high school and nailed 3 50+ yard field goals.  Here is a link with some videos showing off his big leg and accuracy from back in the day.  While this experiment would require someone else to hold, that could be a sneaky way to suit up a third quarterback just in case.
