While the Patriots are likely to score more points than the Buffalo Bills today, they still won't win in the eyes of some people.
Assuming the Patriots go into Buffalo and don't beat themselves, they should move to 10-2 on the season. While most teams that have a record of 10-2 in the NFL are looked at as being a great team, if New England moves to 10-2 people will just try to say it's because the AFC East is weak.
Now if the Patriots were to lose this week they would be 9-3 and only 2 games ahead of the Bills. While this would initially cause people to say that the Patriots suck because they lost to the Bills, in time keeping the division closer seems to somehow make the team better in some people's eyes.
In today's game there are a few things I'm hoping to see:
- No unforced errors- Gronkowski avoiding false starts, no missed field goals or extra points, etc.
- No injuries
- Good defense in the 4th quarter- oddly enough the Patriots have been out scored 82-54 in the 4th quarter this season.
- LeSean McCoy completely shut down
- An upright Tom Brady
- Continued dominance by defense
With a win Brady will have the most wins against an opponent.
