Before the dust settled on the NFL upholding Julian Edelman’s 4 game suspension, people began chirping that it might actually be good since he’s coming off a torn ACL.
Maybe I should give these fools the benefit of the doubt and assume that they were celebrating our country’s independence a little early. Or maybe they just aren’t aware that during those 4 weeks Edelman is banned from Gillette and his teammates.
Now had Edelman been suspended for a drug that is considered to be substance abuse, then he would still get to practice with the team. If that were the case, then you could put on your rose colored glasses and say it’s similar to allowing him more time to come back from his injury. Making him leave the team and facility after the preseason and jumping into a Thursday Night game is definitely not going to be beneficial.
In my opinion, if the NFL is going to give Julian an unprecedented suspension for some unrecognizable substance, then they should at least allow the guy to practice.
