LESTER TO THE CUBS AND THAT'S A-OKAY

Like most MLB fans I woke up this morning to hear the news that Lester decided to go play for the Cubs.  As a Red Sox fans I have mixed emotions.  I'm kind of bummed that we don't currently have any idea what our pitching rotation will look like next year, but that's about it with the sad thoughts.

In my opinion the Cubs completely overpaid Lester.  As I've said multiple times, Lester is not an ace.  Did he time the best year of his career perfectly, absolutely.  With the average annual value of his contract standing at $25.8 million, which makes him the second highest pitcher in baseball, the Cubs have undoubtedly overpaid him.

Tongue in cheek comment, sorta----Cubs promised Lester he could keep his World Series ERA, Red Sox and Giants couldn't match that.
