Patriots' 6th round draft pick- Conor McDermott
The reigning champs made four selections during this year's NFL draft. Two of them are offensive lineman. The last day of open camp I got to talk with their 6th round selection,Conor McDermott. Here's what he had to say.
Q- There are 6 rookie offensive lineman in camp this year and you were one of two left tackles who were drafted. Are you feeling higher expectations?
A- I uh, have no expectations. I just try to work on getting better every day. Every day is an opportunity to improve and be out there with my teammates.
Q- Patriot fans may be the only fans who know the name of their offensive line coach. What's been your first impression of Scar?
A- Scar is a great coach and a great teacher. Every day is just trying to get better and improve our fundamentals.

Patriots' VP of Media Relations informs Conor that I've requested an interview with him.
As you can tell from Conor's responses, he is well versed on speaking Patriot. With a little more experience he'll be able to figure out when he can answer a question openly and when to go to a canned response. For now,Conor should focus on learning the offense and protecting the GOAT.
