Kenbrell Thompkins- Really? We waived Thompkins heading into this week's game. Surely I'm not the only one thinking that maybe Thompkins was the person who got into a fight with Josh McDaniels.
3 and Out- Yeah, let's try to avoid those on the offensive side of the ball. While obviously I'd love to take time off the clock and mach down the field for a touchdown every time, that probably isn't going to happen. But if we could stop leading the league in 3 and outs, that would be nice.
Don't Defer- If we win the coin flip we need to take the ball and try to establish momentum immediately. Deferring until the second half works when you go into the half with a lead and come out and score while the fans are still refilling their refreshments. This year the Patriots have not been going into halftimes with leads or scoring in the second half. If those aren't reasons enough to take the ball to start the game, maybe it would be nice for the defense not to be on the field for the whole first quarter because the offense can't get a first down.
Run the Damn Ball- Maybe we will actually try to run the ball a little bit this week. Cincinnati gives up 113 yards per game on the run. If you are thinking that isn't much and Brady needs to throw the ball to win, keep in mind how you keep hearing how our defense can't stop the run. Hell, you might have uttered those words yourself. Of course keep in mind that our defense which can't stop the run only give up 16 more yards rushing per game.
Bulletin Board- Hopefully the Patriots have enough bulletin board material to come out pissed this week.
Is Brady Mad at McDaniels- Brady made some comments this week which many people have taken to be a slight at his teammates, I wonder if they aren't really a jab at McDaniels for calling plays which our guys don't have the skills for. Now would you ever ask Manute Bol to play the point and Spud Web to post up down below? No, well then stop sending our short guys deep and having our deep guys come across the middle. And how about handing the ball to Ridley and throwing to Vereen. I've really wondered if McDaniels owes someone in Vegas a favor or if he had the Chiefs defense on his fantasy team.
Speaking of Fantasy- I'm going to do my part for the team tomorrow by keeps all Patriots off my fanduel roster and instead going heavy with Cincinnati players.
