The Bruins are on a roll and it's not a good one. Since turning the page on the calendar or maybe hanging up the new one you got for Christmas, the Bruins have yet to score a power play goal. That's a pretty long drought when it comes to a hockey team, let alone a team which is tied for first in their division.
In their 6 games they've had 16 power play opportunities and zero goals. Of course technically there was one goal, but it was scored by Anaheim. Now watching the games of late, they have definitely run into some goalies who are bringing their "A-game" but we are barely getting any shots off or even spending quality time in their end.
In addition to struggling on power plays, we are also having some trouble killing penalties. In this same six game stretch we have given up 6 short handed goals. Clearing the puck seams to be the main issue on our kills as we can't seem to get out sticks on the puck.
Hopefully the Bruins can get back on track against Dallas tonight since they also seem to having some trouble with power plays. Last time we faced the Stars the game ended in a shootout with the Stars coming out on top. It is worth noting that former Bruins' Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley both scored for Dallas in the shootout.
