Tonight the Bruins are looking for a different result and hope to extend their 10 game win streak at the expense of extending Colorado's three game losing streak. During the ten game winning streak the Bruins have averaged 4.1 goals and held their opponents to 1.5. While the Avalanche can not match the Bruins in goal scoring as of late, their 3.4 average over their past 10 games is still impressive and likely means that Chad Johnson (first off the ice) will have his hands full. Although they may be able to put up a crooked number on the Bruins tonight, the Avalanche aren't likely to be able to stop the Bruins unless their defense improves drastically. In their past 4 games Colorado has given up a total of 18 goals. Semyon Varlamov and his .925 save percentage will be in net for the Avs tonight.
While the fact that this game is being played in Colorado does give the Avalanche a slight advantage, it is worth noting that the Bruins have gone 9-0-3 in their past twelve road games. The fact that the schedule allowed for the Bruins to get to Colorado and get accustomed to the this air should also help a bit.
