Even if he was legitimately let go, I don't think he could learn the Patriots' defense fast enough to benefit the team. Even if he could learn it, he was targeted by Belichick last season for his inability to play zone. If you are going to play for the Patriots, you better be more than a one trick pony. Had he previously played for the Patriots or Rutgers, maybe I'd be interested.
Probably the worst of his transgressions are the comments he made in Men's Journal about wanting to meet Rodney Harrison and Tedy Bruschi in a dark alley.
