As the two seed, the Patriots will be taking on whichever team emerges out of wild card weekend with the best seed. As a fan of the Patriots, the team I would most like to face is the Cincinnati Bengals. There are three main reasons I want this for a matchup.

miserably as they lost 6-13. What made this game miserable was the piss-poor play calling on offense combined with a lack of execution and available offensive players. Of the Patriots 56 plays from scrimmage, they only ran the ball 18 times. Even without the availability of Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen, only running the ball 18 times was ludicrous especially since we averaged 4.6 yards per attempt. Besides that, only 18 of Brady's 38 passes were completions. Brady was all over the place with his passes that day as none of his incompletions were drops.
Another reason I want to face the Bengals is because it means the Broncos will face either the Chiefs or the Colts. Seeing Peyton playing his former team or the Chiefs getting one more crack at the Broncos would be some quality football. Besides it's always hard to beat a team 3 times in a season and the Broncos have already played and beaten the Chiefs twice this year. Having the Chiefs take one from the Broncos and come to Foxboro for the AFC Championships would be great. It would give us another home game and be a matchup that I think favors the Patriots.
The final reason I want to face the Bengals is because it eliminates the Chargers from the playoff picture. The Chargers are pretty hot right now and are pretty well rounded. Being realistic, I'd like to have them eliminated from the picture as soon as possible.
