WHO WILL BE THE NEXT MAN UP FOR THE PATRIOTS' RUNNING GAME?

LeGarrette Blount and Brandon Bolden enjoy last year's Superbowl Victory.
Although it is what we all expected yesterday afternoon, today it became official that Patriots' elusive newcomer, Dion Lewis, is done for the season.  Now we are all trying to guess at who will be the "next man up".

LeGarrette Blount-  While Blount really isn't in the running for replacing Lewis, he will probably get more touches than he would have had Lewis stayed healthy.  The depletion of the offensive line will also keep the ball in his hands.

James White- White is the obvious choice for filling in for Lewis.  After all, White was who we all thought would be replacing Shane Vereen.  While White is not as shifty as Lewis, he does have really good hands and the trust of Tom Brady.

Brandon Bolden- Bolden has averaged 4.4 yards per carry and 7.1 yards per reception in his 4 year Patriot career.  He has caught 68% of the passes thrown his direction.  Although Bolden hasn't really had his big chance yet, he must be doing something right as he's been a constant on Belichick's roster.

Travaris Cadet- Cadet looked pretty good this summer.  As a matter of fact I took a good amount of notes during pre-season practices complementing his ability to stop on a dime and then turn upfield in a hurry.  Of course if Cadet is going to get a chance to try and fill in Dion's shoes, he's going to have to return to Foxboro.  As I write this, Cadet is a free agent who was brought into San Francisco for a workout today.

Chris Harper- Yes, he's a wide receiver.  However, he is a guy who can make a catch around the line of scrimmage and take it upfield.  Isn't that what the Patriots are trying to replace?  If Troy Brown and Julian Edelman can play cornerback, surely Harper can play running back.
