WHO IS THE RAINMAN?  BRADY OR LUCK

Don't tell Bill Belichick, but I've been paying attention to the weather forecast for Gillette Stadium on Sunday.  While it is going to be warmer than right now, it is expected to be rainy.  With that in mind, I did a little homework to find out who is the better quarterback in the rain.
In order to gather my data I used the NFLWeather.com website to determine weather and ESPN to gather quarterback statistics.  Looking at Andrew Luck's brief experience in rain games, it doesn't look very promising if you are a Colts' fan.

Since Tom Brady has a lot more years under his belt and the game is going to be played at Gillette Stadium I only used information regarding rainy games at Gillette.  Again, to be consistent I only considered it a rain game if it came up on my search using NFLWeather.com.  Because this website hasn't been around all of Brady's career, the data is pretty recent.

In his 5 recent rain games at Gillette, Brady and the Patriots are a perfect 5-0.  Looking at Brady's touchdown passes compared to the final scores of the games you can tell that the game were not just a Tom Brady show.  However, if you look at his stats you will see that of his 164 passes in the rain, only one was picked off while 9 were touchdowns.  In Luck's smaller sample size he has 4 touchdown passes and 4 interceptions.

If that game against the Titans is making you think the Patriots are mean and ran up the score on the Titans (hey, you could be a Pats hater), I'll have you know that Bryan Hoyer played almost the entire second half of the game.  I guess Brady needed some rest after throwing a record setting 5 touchdown passes in one quarter (second quarter).  In that blowout Patrick Chung recorded his first career interception for the Patriots.

While the weather may be much different than what I am expecting, I still have good feelings about this week's game.
