WHERE THE RED SOX STAND AT THE END OF AUGUST

Well, it's the end of August and the Red Sox are still sitting in last place in the east.  Since they've been the cellar dweller for most of the season, I think we are all pretty used to it?  Do we like it?  Hell no.  Is there a snowballs chance in hell that we could make our way into the post-season with 32 games left on the table?  Yes, there is.  With 26 games remaining against the east, there is the mathematical possibility to maneuver up the standings.  Of course if we could take back those games in May and June that we should have won and not tried to break records with lengthy losing streaks, it would be a lot more probable.
Here is a look at where the Red Sox were in regards to the east at the end of each month this season.

Month       Record   Games Back      Last 10

August         60-70           14                 6-4
July              46-58           13                 4-6
June             36-43           6                  6-4
May              22-29           4                  3-7
April              12-10          1                   5-5

April is the only month the team was not in last place.

Since we are talking about the east and how far back the team is, we definitely need to look at how we've fared against each team this season. Listing is based on position in the east as of today.

Toronto 6-7 with 6 games remaining

New York 4-7 with 7

Tampa Bay 6-6 with 7

Baltimore 4-9 with 6

That's a collective 20-30 with 26 games left. Now if we could just take back some of those losses early in the season when we stuck with guys just to "get them going".

As a fan, I have to say that I am not really happy with where Red Sox is in the standing. I know that they can do better, I just don’t know what’s happening with the group nowadays. As a fan, I feel a bit disappointed but still I am rooting on them I still believe that at the end of the month, they will be able to bounce back because every member of the team is great. Perhaps, it is because they lack of teamwork. They need to work on it as soon as possible.
