After practicing with the Eagles this week, the Patriots will host Chip Kelly's squad tonight for both teams' second preseason game.
After the Patriots game last week, I for one am confident in the abilities of Jimmy Garoppolo if the need arises. Unfortunately like most fans I am no longer confident in the Patriots being able to get a whole lot for Mallett anymore. Hopefully, he gets in there tonight and plays really well.
Although some people think that we will learn a lot about this year's backup situation based on who comes in after Brady exits tonight. I don't agree with this whatsoever. I think Belichick is going to go with Mallett tonight with the idea of showcasing him to other teams.
When watching tonight's game I'll be watching to see who gets first team reps at running back. Additionally, I'll be paying attention to the play of rookies on special teams. Well, that's all for my blog for today as I'm heading to my brother's wedding.
