While this series against Monteal has been beyond frustrating at times, the Bruins are in position to close it out in game six.  Although my confidence in the team has been all over the place the past few weeks, I'm feeling good about tonight.
This Series the Bruins.....
  • showed a lot of heart and played every game until the last whistle
  • have made last season's trade look brilliant
  • reminded us that they are never out of a game and can stage improbable comebacks
  • proved what a great frontrunner they are
  • took the opposing fans out of the game and cleared out the Bell Centre before the goalies left the ice
  • kept the Boston Montreal rivalry alive and well
Last Game the Bruins.....
  • showed up at the first whistle
  • finished
  • helped out Rask instead of leaving him out to dry or taking him out of the play
  • did a better job getting the puck out of their defensive zone
  • took penalties, but not really stupid ones
  • blocked shots instead of letting them just tee it up
  • were better with the puck and had takeaways instead of giveaways
Although things may always change, here are some postseason statistics for both teams.

  • When leading after one period, both teams are perfect in the postseason.
  • When leading are two periods, the Bruins are perfect and the Canadiens have an 83.3% winning percentage.
  • The Bruins are 1-2 when trailing after one and 2-2 when trailing after two.
  • The Canadiens are 0-2 when trailing after one and 0-1 when trailing after two.
  • Both teams are perfect when they score first.
  • Both teams are 1-3 when they trail first.
  • On the road the Bruins have scored 9 goals and allowed 6.
  • At home the Canadiens have scored 11 goals and allowed 8.
