WHAT THE PATRIOTS NEED TO DO TO BEAT THE JAGUARS AND BE SUPER BOWL BOUND ONCE AGAIN

One more day of scoring more than their opponents and the Patriots will be headed to another Super Bowl. This is what needs to happen to move on and maybe have an unstressful AFC Championship.
Score First- When they score first the Patriots are pretty unstoppable. In their past 16 playoff games the Pats have scored first 12 times. They've won 10 of those games. With the Jaguars also playing well when leading, going up on them early has the potential of putting the game out of reach by halftime. Why do I say this? Bortles has had 5 touchdowns and 9 interceptions when trailing this season. Should the Jaguars choose to go with their strength of running the ball, ball security has been a problem early in games. In their first 10 rushing attempts they have fumbled away the ball 4 times. If they are generally prone to early game jitters, today's game may give them some stage fright. With that being said, should the Patriots win the coin toss, I'd like to see them take the ball.
Complete Routes- The surefire way to lose Brady's trust is to not run your route properly. This is the one place where Cooks has to improve. Don't assume the ball is going to another player, don't assume he can't get you the ball. Run your route and be ready.
Play the Sideline- Don't assume a guy is going out of bounds. While you don't need to take a dumb penalty, giving a little contact to someone trying to make a sideline catch instead of assuming he's going to step out may be the difference in the game. Yes, I'm talking about Butler. It seems every game he gives up a first down on the sideline.
Let Bortles Beat Them- While the temperature is pretty mild in Foxboro today, Bortles is a true Floridian and doesn't play his best ball in cooler temps. This season Bortles has a rating of 56.3 once the temperature drops below 40.
Let the Jag be the Jags- This season the Jaguars have been very guilty of giving themselves self inflicted wounds with stupid penalties.
  • 23 false starts
  • 17 offensive holding
  • 7 defensive offsides
  • 5 neutral zone infractions
  • 5 unsportsmanlike
  • 3 12 men on the field
  • 2 offsides on free kicks
  • Protect the Ball- Win the turnover battle and we will likely win the game. With this being said, Brady needs to be careful with assuming he's going to get a "free play" unless it's a 12 on the field.
