If the Patriots could just do what they did last week, that would guarantee a win. With things not being as easy as that, here are some points of emphasis they should focus on.
Wrap Guys Up- While the team did let their bodies acclimate to the higher elevation, it will still benefit them to minimize any extra running around on defense by making sound tackles. With Marshawn Lynch coming off a two-touchdown game before the bye, he will likely be a big part of the offensive plan.
Three and Outs- While always great to get on defense, avoiding these on offense is always a key. Even more so when tiredness is likely to be a factor. With the Patriots now succeeding on third down 45% of the time and the Raiders allowing offenses to move the chains 45% of the time, I'm feeling pretty good about keeping drives alive.
Don't Give up the Big Play- After giving up big plays like it was their job early in the season, Matt Patricia's defense is starting to gel once again. They'll want to continue that tonight.
Red Zone Defense- In their last 3 games, the Raiders have scored touchdowns on 71.43% of their trips to the red zone. For their last three games, the Patriots' defense has allowed touchdowns to their red zone guests 28.57% of the time. Assuming the Raiders make it into the red zone, one of these stat lines will change.
