Hopefully the Sox can take care of business with the Rangers coming to town tomorrow. John Lackey will be on the mound for the Red Sox while Tanner Scheppers will do the pitching for the Rangers. Lackey really doesn't have very good numbers against the Rangers but is coming off a six inning 3 hit outing. Scheppers, on the other hand, only made it through 4 innings during his first start of the season as he gave up 8 hits, 3 walks and 7 runs. The Red Sox have seen very little of Scheppers and are a combined 0-9 against him. Hopefully, Scheppers has a bad night because we haven't seemed to fare well against guys we don't know very well in the past.
The Bruins may have waited until the third period to go ahead of the Flyers for good, but they did get the victory and secured home ice through the Eastern Conference Championships. The Blackhawks also helped us out by defeating the Blues and letting us get a 2 point advantage over the Blues for best record. If the Bruins tie the Blues for best record the tie breaker goes to Boston since we have more regulation and overtime wins. Next up for the Bruins is a road trip to Minnesota to take on the Wild. The will be the second time the two teams play this season. The Bruins won the first game 4-1.
The Celtics lost both their games this weekend and are still in position for a lottery pick.
The Patriots: Patrick Chung is back, Adrian Wilson was released from his contract, and Alfonzo Dennard was released from you know where. Belichick and his minions spent last week bringing in all the top quarterback prospects. Some call it due diligence, I call it genius. What his reasoning is is anybody's guess. I'll give you mine later this week.
