Based on paper, today's game should be a tight one down in Jacksonville. If the Patriots want to win and possibly make it look like an easy victory it will come down to three things.
PLAY CALLING- The first thing is play calling. Based on the lack of offensive lineman and running backs ready to go today, McDaniels is going to have to go deep into the playbook. Assuming Hollister is suited up, I wouldn't be surprised seeing a few plays with three tight ends and fullback James Develin. While those outside New England know of Gronk for his bigger than life personality and great hands, today they may finally realize that he's also an incredible blocker.
FINISH BIG PLAYS- Offensively, players need to finish big plays. Getting tackled or going out of bounds just prior to the end zone is not going to cut it. If you thought the Patriots defense was good when it gets backed up, the Jaguars are just as good and possibly better. It's almost as if you are better off taking a penalty to back up the offense instead of having the ball 1st and goal.
BALL SECURITY- Last week the only reason the Patriots didn’t win in a blowout was because of turnovers. Assuming we don’t repeat that this week, we should come out on top.
In my opinion this game will really just come down to the Patriots on offense and when receiving the ball on special teams.
