The look says it all.
Well, both the first offensive and defensive sets were good. Other than that, not so much.
While the Patriots were absolutely robbed of momentum by the referees choosing to measure for a first down when they were trying to hurry up, the team still stunk up the joint for a good chunk of the game.
On defense the big plays really killed us. Two touchdown receptions for 75+ yards. Giving up a 58 yard run and a 21 yard touchdown run. Who were these guys? A month ago I wrote about the big plays that the Patriots have given up over the past 5 seasons, and they were few and far between.
Offensively, I wasn't very impressed with the play calling. The two fails on 4th down, Brady throwing desperation throws when it was still a one score game. Busting out the flea-flicker after making an offensive substitution which pretty much gave away the fact that we were going deep.
Overall, the special teams probably played the best. After struggling early with giving up a substantial amount of yards on the kickoffs, the coverage team did everything but knock the ball loose and score.
On on a similar note, the offense not scoring when the defense forced a fast turnover, was a real killer.
