Keep your chins up Celtics fans, we are heading to game 5 and have this year's top pick.
The Celtics came dangerously close to tying up the series with the Cavaliers last night, but then Kyrie Irving came two points shy of outscoring the Celtics in the third. Many people are amazed that it was Irving and not LeBron, I guess they are forgetting what happened in 2011.
Wait, what happened in 2011? Kyrie was the #1 pick in the NBA draft. I imagine many fans have conveniently forgotten that Irving went first in 2011.
The same fans are probably also forgetting that Cleveland also had the top pick in both the 2013 and 2014 drafts.
Heading into last week's lottery there was a lot of talk about how huge having the number one pick in the NBA draft is. You know, it can make your team a contender for a good ten years. Now picture a team having it 3 times in a 4 year span. Throw in the fact that the Cavs picked 4th in 2012 and 2011. Now we are talking 5 top 4 picks in a 4 year span.
Oh, let's not forget that The Chosen One, #1 draft pick from 2003, LeBron James returned back home to Cleveland in 2014.
Keep your chins up Celtics fans, we are heading to game 5 and have this year's top pick.
