In their first ten games of the season, Red Sox pitchers have accumulated exactly 100 strikeouts.
If they can keep up that pace they will garner an $81,000 ($50 per K) donation from Boston area Lexus dealers to the Greater Boston Food Bank.
Besides rooting for strikeouts from wherever you might be watching a game from, what else can you do to help?
- If you play fantasy sports and your team always loses, don't draft Red Sox players. I know it's hard to resist Chris Sale's 10.56 K/9, but face it you're bad luck. Instead pick whoever our opponent's best batters are.
- Plan on visiting your local Lexus dealer during May and June with your non-perishable food items as they hold food drives. So when you are grocery shopping and see something on sale or for a great price, pitch it into your cart. Chris and David will do their thing on the mound. You do yours in the aisles.
