Heading into tonight's do or die game 7 I looked into a couple of Bruins' statistics. Be forewarned, they aren't very pretty.
RECORD IN APRIL- After being almost unstoppable from December to March, the Bruins are 4-7 for the month of April. During that time they have scored the exact same number of goals as their opponents, 33. After outscoring the Leafs 12-4 in the first 2 playoff games, Toronto has turned the tables by outscoring the Bruins 12-9.
POWERPLAY- The Bruins' powerplay was on fire heading into the playoffs. In their last 21 regular season games they scored on 24 of 70 opportunities (34.3%). When the playoffs commenced the Bs had a power surge with an impressive success rate of 50% in both games 1 (3/6) and 2 (2/4). Since then they've been lights out, as in an almost blackout. In their 9 most recent powerplay opportunities, Boston has only scored once. Since one of those powerplays wasactually a 5 on 3, it's really worse than 11%.

The Bruins had experienced a lot of challenges while making on their way towards grand finals. But reaching that point wouldn't be more satisfying if all of these didn't happen. Everything happens for a reason, and it was just right that all these challenges came along the way! The wouldn't find their tougher and smarter version of they didn't face those problems that reassured their status on this sports. That alone is an achievement worth boasting for!
