- Rajon Rondo planned on making a rehab start with the Maine Red Claws but bailed on it after having a good practice with the Celtics. Personally, I'm okay with that. Initially, when reports were saying that he would play for Maine partially because the Celtics would be on a West Coast road trip and he wouldn't get quality rehab time I thought it was a great idea. Of course, at that time I was thinking the team was playing at home in Portland and it would be good for the fans. With them being on the road, forget about it.
- Tom Brady's name has been thrown around a lot in regards to needing to play well this year in the playoffs in order to maintain his legacy. I agree to a certain degree. In order to maintain the characteristic of being a winning, clutch quarterback, Brady needs to help his team win. Doing this should not require any touchdown passes or a crazy amount of yards. What it will require is not making mistakes that hurt the team. The most obvious way to do this is by not turning the ball over and definitely not doing so inside either teams' red zone.
- Josh McDaniels bowed out of the running for the Cleveland head coaching job. Although he sometimes drives me crazy and I wouldn't be sad to see him go, he is our offensive coordinator and clearly I want him to be successful. To be successful this week and give the Patriots an opportunity to play next week, McDaniels needs to play to our strengths until the Colts show that they can take them away. Yes, Tom Brady is a future hall of famer, but our strength this year is our running game.
Rajon Rondo, Tom Brady and Josh McDaniels are in the spotlight this week even though they haven't had any games to play or coach.
