RED SOX START MAKING MOVES AHEAD OF ALL-STAR BREAK

Today the Red Sox undid one of the curious moves they made during the off-season.  After having signed veteran catcher AJ Pierzynski to a one year deal to allow Christian Vazquez another year to mature, the Red Sox have decided the time is now for the 23 year old to join the big boys.
Vazquez is hoping to be the next great catcher from Puerto Rico and mimics his style after Yadier Molina.  During the off-season Christian has worked with the Molina's and has developed a mentor/mentee relationship with Jose.  Said to be major league ready in regards to his defense, the Red Sox have been waiting for his offense to catch up.  Vazquez hit .289 for double A Portland last season and has hit .279 at triple A Pawtucket this season.  Although he only had 10 at bats for the Red Sox during Spring Training he did record 5 hits including 1 home run.
Although Vazquez stands at only 5'9", he has shown a bit of pop in his bat.  The fact that he is a right handed bat should help out the Red Sox in Fenway.
Other moves in the making?

Jake Peavy- Supposedly the Cardinals are interested in him.  Although I like Peavy, I think this could be a good situation for both him and the team.  Since he is at the end of a contract with the team and isn't likely to be resigned, I think it's great that teams are asking about him.  Maybe he can go somewhere and get some run support.

John Lackey- Name has been brought up.  With the injury clause he had written into his contract which technically keeps him under contract for the veteran minimum next season, who knows what he or the team are thinking.

Jon Lester- In my opinion, if the Red Sox can't come to terms with Lester before the deadline then he needs to go.  As I've said before, I don't think he is an ace and is looking for a lot more than I think he is worth, especially with his "hometown discount" comment.

Stephen Drew- Can someone please take him from us so Farrell doesn't keep running him out there?  I really hope the fact that we signed him at least secured us an IOU from Scott Boras.  I'm still so sick of hearing how the young guys need to go back to Pawtucket to learn how to hit while he is getting $10 million to have an average which is 50% lower than the next guy.
