POINTS AND YARDS GIVEN UP BY PATRIOTS IN GARBAGE TIME

This Sunday the Patriots defense gave up an 83 yard garbage time touchdown drive to the Washington Redskins.  While it didn't put the game in jeopardy it still made Matt Patricia shake his head in disgust.  After giving up yards in chunks, it briefly looked like the Patriots would keep them out of the endzone when they sacked Kirk Cousins for a loss of 9.  Unfortunately, there was a flag on the play giving the Redskins a new set of downs right on the doorstep.  Two plays later, they were in for the score.   

In total this season the Patriots defense has given up 136 points and 2,672 yards.  In my opinion, 44 of those points and 507 of those yards came in garbage time.  Where did I come up with those numbers?  I looked at the end of each game and made a judgement call on whether or not a late score was after the game had been decided.

Here is my raw data:

Pittsburgh- 7 points, 80 yards (the Steelers scored with 2 seconds remaining in the game bringing them within 7, but without any time)
Buffalo- 14 points, 119 yards (the Patriots defense went to a prevent with 8:10 left in the game while the offense went into a coma)
Jacksonville- 7 points, 80 yards (scored a touchdown with 1:22 left in the game)
Indianapolis- 6 points, 85 yards (got them within 7 needing an onside kick and a touchdown without reasonable time)
New York Jets- 3 points, 60 yards (two drives)
Washington- 7 points, 83 yards (discussed above)
