Today and tomorrow I’ll be hanging out at Rhode Island Country Club taking in some golf. Today is the Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am where some regular Joes like me and you are playing in 5-somes with some former New England greats. With the morning round in the books, here are some observations. If you wish you knew about this event earlier, you need to check out my other website www.TimeOut4Charity.com.
The first celebrity golfer I encountered was former Patriot Ben Coates. Coates was having a fun time with his partners, but wasn’t too thrilled when the caddie told them that they had him as a scratch golfer. Ben claims that he’s an 18.
The next celebrity group was Joe Andruzzi. Joe offered to let me take his next shot for him, but seeing as how he was putting and I can’t putt, I declined. Besides Joe needs to get on his “A game” since he’s hosting his owngolf tournament tomorrow.
Troy Brown looks to be in awesome shape. I’m not sure if he was running from tee to free to keep warm or because he’s going to fill in for Edelman for a few weeks. Let’s get that rumor going.
Lou Merloni claimed that his group was playing pretty well. Unlike many of the other golfers this morning, Lou did have a few good shots in front of me.
