PATRIOTS' PREVIEW: NEW YORK JETS

Another December game against a division rival, another chance to lock up home field advantage.  No, this doesn't get old.  While today's game should be a tight one with an edge for the home team, I just have a feeling we might be in for a blowout.
Let's face it folks, the Jets have a huge game ahead of them and are on a 4 game winning streak.  During the streak they've scored an average of 27.5 points while only giving up an average of 16.  The Patriots will go another game without playmaker Julian Edelman and are still trying to figure out which running backs can best fill the holes left by Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount.  Additionally, out for today's game are Danny Amendola, Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty.  Face it people, this has all the ingredients to be a blowout.
While the Jets look to finally have an advantage over the Patriots, I'm feeling a blowout in the opposite direction.  Yes, I know it makes little sense, but that pretty much is how the Patriots play.  Games that should be tight aren't and games that should be blowouts are too close for comfort.  I've just got a feeling that today, the bounces are going to go the Patriots' way.  Those 50/50 fumble recoveries will go to the red, white and blue team.  The "oh no that didn't just happen" special teams blunder will happen to the J-E-T-S.  Malcolm Butler will not have some circus catch happen to the player he has in perfect coverage.  Most importantly, the umpires won't make too many ridiculous calls negating huge gains by the Patriots offense.  Yes, they will miss some key calls as usual, but the phantom call will take the weekend off.

While calling for a blowout typically means that the offense is getting touchdowns at will, I wouldn't go crazy and stack my lineup with Patriots' players just yet.  I think this blowout will be more of a scoring at least 3 points on every possession and holding the Jets to single digits.  While that may not be a sexy win, the points will still add up to a Patriots victory going away.
