Personal observations and pictures from the practice fields of Patriot Place.

Offensive Line- Early in practice when it was more like a walkthrough Isaiah Wynn and Dan Skipper were taking turns at left guard. As the day progressed and things got more physical, Wynn spent the day observing while Skipper and Cedrick Lang took reps.

Brady- In previous years Brady always seemed to shy away from catching the ball when it was thrown back to him after a drill. Today he was catching more than Hoyer or rookie Jarrett Stidham. He was also playing catch with one of the assistants in the endzone when Hoyer was taking some reps. While the assistant wasn’t throwing the ball as hard as Tom, he was definitely putting a lot of mustard on it.

Kicking & Punting- Jake Bailey was the lone kicker on the field for the first half of practice. Early on he was simulating kickoffs while the jugs machine did the work. Later on he kicked off a handful of times. While his kicks were good, his approach seemed a little unorthodox.

Ryan Allen and Stephen Gostkowski were out on the practice fields at about 10:45. They worked together on field goals and Gostkowski practiced some kickoffs.

Kickoff Returns- Brandon Bolden muffed two returns at the beginning of practice. Also spending a little time in the return game were Stephon Gilmore and Damoun Patterson.

Chirping- While things started to get heated a few times, Jason McCourty was chirping at Braxton Berrios during 11 on 11s.

Receivers- N’Keal Harry, Jakobi Meyers, and Phillip Dorsett all had some nice grabs.

Offensive Struggles- The offense was not being so kind to their coaches as they had 3 errors in a row. This resulted in the offensive unit, including coaches and an injured Edelman, running back to back laps.

Defensive Domination- As if Stephon Gilmore and Jonathan Jones haven’t been dominating the offense in their usual roles during camp, they really one-upped the boys in white when they got a turn to snap the ball. Gilmore went 2 for 3 with both completions going to Jones.
