While the NFL is great, it still has lots of places it could stand to improve. One of those places is with scheduling.
While Thanksgiving football games have been around forever, Thursday Night Football is still relatively new. In addition to being the new kid on the block, Thursday Night Football is also a point of contention. Most Thursday night games end up being sloppy exhibitions because the teams do not have adequate time to prepare or heal. While it may not actually happen that often, it seems that every once in a while, some teams end up playing a Thursday night game right after playing Sunday night.
Some other scheduling issues which have recently garnered more attention are the trips across the pond and the ridiculously early bye week.

In my opinion there is a real simple thing the league could do to fix this scheduling nightmare:
- Both teams who are scheduled to play on Thursday should be coming off of a bye week.
- Prior to playing in London, teams should have their bye week.
- The teams returning from London should play their next games Sunday and Monday night respectively.
