With the win the Bruins stay two points ahead of Tampa Bay in the Atlantic Division. Unfortunately the Bruins do not play another game until Saturday when they play in Philadelphia.
Bruins' LW Brad Marchand is in the middle of a scoring streak with 6 goals and 1 assist over the past 4 games. During Sunday's shootout loss in Chicago Marchand scored 2 goals on 4 shots. During today's matinee at the Garden, Marchand scored another 2 goals. This time he accomplished it on only 2 shots. His first goal was a thing of beauty and persistence. Not only was it while the Bruins were shorthanded, but Marchy was alone taking on all of the Kings' players who were on the ice at the time. His second goal of the game came a mere 18 seconds after the Kings tied it up on a power play goal by Jeff Carter. Marchand now has 16 goals on the season. The other Bruins' goal was of the power play variety and was scored by Torey Krug on and was his 11 on the season. Chad Johnson was in net and stopped 21 of 23 shots he faced. With the win the Bruins stay two points ahead of Tampa Bay in the Atlantic Division. Unfortunately the Bruins do not play another game until Saturday when they play in Philadelphia.
