Pierzynski brings AL experience and a career .283 average. Although he is 37, he still has a lot left in his tank and is coming off a 70 rbi season.
Sizemore will bring some versatility and insurance to our outfield if he can stay healthy. Grady hasn't played since the 2011 season when he played 71 games and had 268 at bats. While he only hit .224 that season, more than half of his 60 hits were extra base hits.
While I would have been happy to have seen Ellsbury back in a Red Sox uniform, I was glad that we didn't go out and give some crazy money to a different player trying to replace him. I think Jackie Bradley is our centerfielder of the future and should get the chance to get more experience at the major league level.
