KEVIN FAULK INDUCTION

Yesterday I made my annual trek to Patriot Place for the Patriots Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and in stadium practice.  Once again, it was and incredible day for all in attendance.

The Ceremony- This year there was one inductee, Kevin Faulk.  Faulk was a total stud in a Patriot uniform for 13 seasons where he not only helped the team earn their first 3 Superbowl rings, but also holds the record for return yards and all purpose yards.  According to Ty Law's story about getting him so drunk he missed practice during camp his rookie year, it is definitely a good thing that he was being coached by "players coach" Pete Carroll that season.

The ceremony included a speech by Robert Kraft and the usual appearance by coach Belichick.  As usual, it was great to hear Belichick speak about one of his former players.  If you couldn't tell by the way Kraft and Belichick spoke about Faulk being a special guy, you could tell by who made a special appearance at this year's induction ceremony.  Yes, there he was, #12, Tom Brady.  Only he wasn't wearing #12.  Instead he was wearing #33 in honor of his former teammate.  Yes, while the rest of the team was about to take the field for the in stadium practice, Brady was outside the stadium speaking about his former teammate.  Tom Brady wearing Faulk's number while pre-practice is going on, Faulk must have been more special than any of us could have imagined.

Practice-  As usual, Aaron Dobson was found open all practice long.  Hopefully, this is the season where a great pre-season translates into a great season.  Like last year, Chis Harper looked pretty spectacular when the ball was thrown in his direction.  Both Tom Brady and Jimmy Garopollo seemed to have their timing down with big hands Gronkowski.  Rookie CB Cyrus Jones looked to be getting a lot of work with special teams.  During punting drills, Ryan Allen's punts were about as perfect as could be as the coverage unit had no trouble forcing the returnmen into waving for a fair catch.
