Tonight John Lackey and the Red Sox take on the Orioles for the teams' second game of the season. While the Orioles have had the Red Sox number in recent years, Lackey has had the Orioles' number during his career. Overall Lackey has a 13-5 record and a 3.35 ERA against the Orioles. The last time Lackey pitched against the Orioles he brought his "A-game". Lackey went the full 9 innings while only giving up 2 hits. Lackey had a no-no heading into the 7th inning before giving up a homerun to Adam Jones. This was Jones' 3rd career homerun off of Lackey. Hopefully Lackey's prior success against the Orioles can help get him back on his game as he did not have a very successful Spring Training. Since this will be Jimenez's first year in the AL East, the Red Sox have not seen a lot of him. Dustin Pedroia has had 10 plate appearances and 5 hits against him. Although it is a small sample size, the Red Sox have a .443 OBP. Over the past 5 years, Jimenez has had an 11.72 ERA against the Red Sox.
