While you were working, the Patriots brought back linebacker Jamie Collins for his fourth stint with the team. Sure they have an opening on the 53 man roster and need a little bit of help with stopping the run, but do I have a fun fact for you.
After Brian Hoyer went into the blue tent and Bailey Zappe took the field, minds started wondering who would go into the game if Zappe were to get injured. By now most people know that Jakobi Meyers is the team's emergency quarterback. Of course Meyers wasn't on the game day roster yesterday because he was injured. So who was the emergency emergency quarterback yesterday? Well, although he got drilled a time or two, Zappe stayed in the game so we never got to find out.
By now you probably know where I'm going with this. Well, did you know that Jamie Collins played quarterback in high school? He did and he was pretty dang good. According to Wikipedia his senior year he led his team to a state championship and had over 1,000 yards passing and more than 1,200 yards rushing. While Collins is starting to slow down due to age and wear and tear, he's still more athletic than most of us were in our prime. Remember the backflips he used to do at practice. Well, if need be, his knowledge of the game and athletic ability could be an option if we should find ourselves in need of an emergency emergency quarterback.
