With NFL free agency underway, there appears to be a common theme. Pay any amount of money to keep players off the Patriots.
Now maybe I'm just thinking this because my Twitter feed is full of people who write about the Patriots. However it really seems that the way to get paid this offseason is to utter the words that you want to play for the Patriots. It seems that once those words are spoken there will be Brinks truck at your door.
After years of trying to build a team to stop the dynasty, have owners succumbed to the idea of joining forces to take it down together and let the chips fall where they may? Or are free agents wisely following the lead of agent less Stanford grad Richard Sherman?
While I'm taking a few minutes to type up this theory, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jordy Nelson get a ridiculous amount of money thrown his direction. Is he good? Yes. Will a team offer him more than he's worth? Probably.
