So how about the Bruins tonight? A tight game with Ottawa turned into a blowout with the goal-fest in the third. Reilly Smith led the way with two goals and has 7 points in the last three games. Brad Marchand put in a short-handed goal in the final minute to finish off the scoring and Tuukka Rask got his 4th shutout of the season on 33 saves.
The Patriots had four players named to the Pro Bowl this season. Tom Brady made the team for the 9th time in his career which ties John Hannah for the most selections for a Patriot. I think it's pretty safe to say that Brady will eventually get the record for himself and hold onto it for good. Logan Mankins made it for the 5th year in a row and deserves some extra accolades for moving from guard to tackle and not missing a beat. Matt Slater made the team for his 3rd consecutive year as a member of the special teams unit. You know you are a standout on special teams when you miss 4 games with a broken wrist and still get your number called. Aqib Talib is the lone defensive player to make the squad. This is Talib's first time being selected and comes after a bit of a roller coaster year. He started out the season looking like an all-world-shut-down-cornerback. In the first 4 games he had 4 picks and 1 fumble recovery and looked like he was on track to set a few records. Since coming back from injuring his hip, things haven't been the same and he's had some costly mental errors. I thought he looked a lot better last week against the Ravens and will hopefully get back to dominating wide receivers in time for the playoffs.
