HOW GOOD ARE THE PATRIOTS AFTER FIRST AND GOAL?

During the Patriots game against the Redskins I made a tweet about how they better score a touchdown since they were in close.  In my head, I had it that the Patriots weren't executing as well once they got inside the ten.  This week I decided to look a little closer at this year's possessions inside the ten.  You may be surprised at what you see.

In total the Patriots have had 19 possessions starting at or within the 10 yard line.  They have scored all 19 times.  Clearly my memory of not executing inside the ten is not accurate.  A look at each chart gives you a breakdown of how, when and who did the scoring.

While putting together this information, I also ran across some other in close possessions which weren't exactly 1st and goal situations, here is a brief summary:

• 1st and 10 on Buffalo's 13- Edelman for 7, Lewis for the TD
• 1st and 10 on New York's 19- incomplete, Gronk for 5, sacked, FG (ingrained in my memory, came off Jets' turnover to start the game)
• 1st and 10 on New York's 12- Gronk for 2, Brady for 2, Amendola TD
• 2nd and 5 on Miami's 10- incomplete, Edelman TD
• 2nd and 3 on Washington's 7- Blount for 2, Blount TD
