When Darrelle Revis was a member of the Jets he referred to Bill Belichick as a jerk. Two years later he has happily signed a contract with the New England Patriots to play for the jerk. How does that happen? Many people have looked at this deal and the recent trades the Patriots have made with Tampa Bay and come to the conclusion that the Buccaneers are just serving as a farm team for the Patriots. Had the Revis acquisition been the result of a trade, that would be pretty hard to refute. However, seeing that Revis is coming to New England as a free agent, it doesn't hold any water. So what else could be going on? I think the Tampa Bay to New England connection has a lot to do with August practices. The past two preseasons the Pats and Bucs have participated in joint practices leading up to their preseason matchup. During those practices both teams get a chance to evaluate the other team's players. The players also get the chance to evaluate the opposing team's coaches. I think this is the real reason the Buccaneers have been a "gravy train" to the Patriots the past two seasons. If you like what you've read here, please share and follow me @BOSsportschick on twitter

I buy in to this notion 100%. If you give BB an all access look into your team and how the players prepair in the preseason he will salivate over the "Patriot" type of players on every roster in the league. He will patiently wait for his opportunity to scoop any player up that fits his system. IMO best coach ever!
