Yes, working 60+ hours per week has really gotten into the way of my blogging. However, with the way the Bruins have been playing all season, maybe that's a good thing. With about 15 minutes to spare between jobs, here are some quick thoughts about this years Boston Bruins.
LUCIC- He's awful. He's overpaid. Yes, I say that all the time. What drives me nuts when I'm driving in my Jeep listening to the radio is how almost all of the hosts give him a free pass. They say things like, "when he plays hard he's great", "we need to keep him because when he turn it on it makes the team so much better". Yet, these are the same people who are still whining about Manny Ramirez refusing to play in a game a decade ago when he was told he would have the day off. So, Lucic can have a free pass for sporadically showing up to play for 2 seasons, while Manny gets beat up for taking a day or two off throughout his career?
OVERTIME- We are pretty bad in overtime games this season. When it comes to shootouts, we outright suck. From now on I'd much rather see the Bruins pull their goalie for a forward and try to score at the end of overtime than go into another shootout. If I had time I'd run the numbers on our 6 on 5 percentages versus our shootout win percentages. I'm guess we would be more likely to score in the overtime with our net empty than come away with a win in a shootout.
