Tuesday night the Red Sox dropped their second game in a row to the Cleveland Indians. While Jake Peavy took the loss and Andrew Miller gave up the hit, neither is the responsible party.
In my eyes the loss should be put on the shoulders of John Farrell and his coaches. With the game tied and runners on first and second with one it out, Farrell made the decision to bring in Andrew Miller to face Michael Bourn.
While Badenhop has only faced him five times he has at least only given up one run and tallied three strikeouts against him.
Capuano has faced him 23 times and has only given up six hits during his career.
Bourn is also 0-1 against Breslow, 1-3 against Mujica and 0-1 against Tazawa. Hello????
Given all that, why in the world would you bring in Miller? Oh, he's been so great with inherited runners you say? I'm sorry those 4 losses he earned during the losing streak are too fresh in my memory.
