DAVID ROSS AND JON LESTER HELP KOJI CELEBRATE NATIONAL HIGH FIVE DAY IN STYLE

For a while it looked like Jon Lester would have another great start snuffed out by the silenced Red Sox bats.  Fortunately, the offense would score 2 runs in the top of the ninth to go ahead of the White Sox 3-1.  Koji Uehera would then get to celebrate National High Five Day after he came in to get his third save of the season.
David Ortiz would try to get the offense going in the first when he launched a ball to center field.  Unfortunately, that ball ended up being the #1 play on Sportscenter when Adam Eaton jumped up and took away the homer.  The Red Sox would then go hitless through the first five.  Xander Bogaerts would get the first hit and run of the game as he put his homerun out of reach.  Chicago would tie it up in their next half inning when they strung their first 3 hits together.

I was certain the White Sox were going to take the lead in the 7th when De Aza hit a double to deep right with Adam Dunn on first. Well, Dunn was done after rounding third and got gunned down at the plate for the final out of the inning.

After being an intricate part of preventing the White Sox from taking the lead, David Ross played hero in getting the go-ahead run across the plate for the Red Sox.  With 2 on and 1 out, Ross screamed a liner down the first base side bringing home Mike Napoli and sending Mike Carp to third.  Nava would then be intentionally walked to load the bases.  What happened next was uncharacteristic of the Red Sox.  Jonathan Herrera laid down a bunt towards first giving himself a hit and an RBI.  What made the situation odd was that White Sox reliever Scott Downs didn't attempt to make any sort of play on the ball.  He got over to it and then just watched it.  Since the ball had no chance of going foul and Herrera still had some ground to cover, it was awkward to say the least.

The bottom half of the ninth was Koji time.  Uehara gave up one hit in route to his 3rd save of the season.  With this save he got to celebrate National High Five Day and the Red Sox get to head home on a two game winning streak.
