Sunday June 23rd marked the third annual CVS Classic Pro-Am which was once again held at The Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, RI. Once again it was a great chance for sports fans to see some of their favorite athletes on a different athletic field.
Yes, some of the pros are professional golfers with local ties, but a good amount of them played for the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. This is just a sampling of the pros who played the second tee time today. Next year bring the family, you won’t regret it.

Drew Bledsoe made quite the impression on fans. He took time to talk with the gallery and went out of his way to make sure fans got quality photo ops by making sure the sun wouldn’t ruin the picture. He also taught a young fan how to give a proper handshake. Although Bledsoe just returned from his Jerusalem trip, he was still full of energy. When I asked if he was suffering from jet lag he said he wasn’t and he was a bit concerned.
Big Vince Wilfork was another former Patriot who just returned from seeing Kraft get a special award. While he is looking like he is in great shape, I think the trip and the hot sun were getting in the way of his game as he spent a lot of down time chilling in the shade.
Recently retired Rob Ninkovich looked like he was having a fun time on the course. He was very willing to sign autographs and take pictures with fans of all ages.
Tim Wakefield looks to be in terrific shape as usual. Although fans were trying to convince him to get back on the mound for the Sox, he seemed very content hitting a little white ball and signing autographs.
It’s never a dull moment when Shawn Thornton is on the course. One of his teammates hit a spectacular shot on the 18th as he unintentionally flew the green and subsequently drilled a temporary fence post resulting in the ball trickling back on the green just feet from the hole.
Bruins forward Sean Kuraly totaling up his team score.
