With reports that he has selected an agent, it appears Johnny Manziel will be saying Sayōnara to the NCAA and hello to the NFL.
Given Manziel's talent and reputation for being a playmaker it is highly unlikely that he will still be on the board when the Patriots make their first pick. Even so, it is fun to wonder whether or not the Patriots would draft him. As a fan, I would love to see a quarterback similar to Manziel play for the Pats. I can't help but think of that whenever I see 20 yards of green between Brady and his nearest opponent on a 3rd and 5 and he throws it away. Personally, I'm a big fan of having a mobile quarterback and really haven't been able to root for any of them unless they happen to be on my fantasy team.
Now, there are probably many reasons why Manziel would be skipped over by the Pats if he were to fall that far in the draft. Most obvious is the fact that they are probably going to intentionally draft players whose character is a bit closer to choir boy than Johnny Football's. Another reason may be that he doesn't "fit the system" we currently have in place. Realistically, the Patriots will probably not have the chance to draft him and will probably pick up a lineman or something.
