Now, I know we've all pretty much begged the Bruins to not get drawn into taking stupid penalties during this series, but not taking dumb penalties is not the same as not playing hockey. Yes, the Bruins needed to go into Montreal and play a relatively clean game, but the game to be played was hockey.
Although the Bruins outshot the Canadiens 28-26, it certainly didn't feel like it. The statistics that did feel like their tallies were hits, takeaways and blocked shots. As I'm sure you've figure out, the Canadiens edged out the Bruins with hits 36-31. They had 7 takeaways to the Bruins 1 and 29 blocked shots to the Bruins 20.
While I hope the Bruins don't get dragged into any dumb penalties on Thursday, I hope they are more physical and aggressive. In my opinion Marchand and Krug were two of the players who showed up tonight.
Wrong Call
Not that we would have scored on it, but according to the rules the Bruins should have been awarded a penalty shot when Subban intentionally dislodged the net with 10 seconds remaining. Reason being is that it should have been a minor penalty for delay of game, but basically upgraded since there was less than 2 minutes left in the game.
