It really doesn't feel right for the Bruins to go to California for a three game series and get swept. While they are facing the three best teams in the Pacific Division and the players aren't actually from California, 3 losses in 3 games still doesn't sit well.
Hopefully the team plays with energy the entire game and doesn't wait until they've spotted San Jose a 3 goal advantage. Shawn Thornton and Loui Eriksson should be returning to the lineup with some fresh legs tonight. Both have been out of the lineup for the past 15 games. Eriksson had been out with a concussion while Thornton was serving a suspension. The Bruins will be without Johnny Boychuck as he left the team to see the birth of his twins. Boychuck will likely be replaced by Kevan Miller.
The Bruins have really struggled with power plays recently. The last time we scored on a power play was December 31st. Besides not scoring in our past 10 opportunities, we've also given up a short-handed goal. Our penalty killing has also been downright atrocious at times as well. Tuesday night Anaheim scored on all 3 of their power play opportunities.
